Dr Aaranie Vithushen
Dr Aaranie (Aani) is a fellow of RACGP and RANZCOG Associate proceduralist works as a GP obstetrician in Colac. She completed her medical degree in Belarus and served in her home country Sri Lanka for a few years, before moving to Australia in 2017. She commenced her career in Australia at the University Hospital Geelong and worked in diversified streams of Medicine before opting her specialty in general practice.
Aani has a strong passion for supporting women in all age groups from different cultural backgrounds to enrich their health, wellbeing and improve their quality of lives.
Her enthusiasm in providing superior ongoing care has enabled her to build strong therapeutic relationships with her patients and she believes that good therapeutic relationship and respecting patient’s autonomy is the key to success.
Apart from her professional interests, she loves to spend time with her family, travelling for exploring food and culture and practicing Yoga.
She is well versatile with languages such as Russian, Tamil and Sinhala and enjoys working with people from different cultural backgrounds.

- Fertility Advice and Prenatal counselling
- Family Planning and contraception advice including Mirena and implanon insertion.
- Obstetrics shared care (she holds accreditation with Barwon Health and Colac Area Health)
- Pelvic Floor Disorders and Genital Health
- Menstrual Disorders
- Supporting women in their perimenopausal and post-menopausal period and prescribing MHT
